Our
Facility - (Head Office,
High River)
In
its twenty years of existence the Foothills AIM Society
has taken up residence wherever it could afford. Sharing
an office space with a local business was the first home
for the Society in its infancy stage. Then a reciprocal
arrangement was reached with the local Ag Society. This
met the needs of Foothills AIM for approximately five
years.
Primarily
due to the growth and demand for services, the Society
for the last five years has rented two separate spaces
within the Town of High River. One space houses the
program, office and administrative operations. The
second premises is home to the “Production
Operation”. At this location contract work is
performed for local businesses and is the home base for
a recycling collection service. The recycling collection
venture started with 20 local businesses three years ago
and has flourished to 180 residential and commercial
customers.
Over
the past eighteen months the Foothills AIM Society has
been named the beneficiary of two separate estates. The
proceeds from these estates have placed the Society in a
position to fulfill a dream. A dream to have its own
home! Combined with past fundraising initiatives and
operating surpluses, the Society is very close to
fulfilling this dream. A committee of board members
sought the community input for recruiting an engineer,
an architect and a general contractor to assist with the
conception and fruition of this project.
This
committee determined that a premises of 6,000 square
feet would be sufficient to house both the operational
and production components of the Foothills AIM Society.
It is expected that this building will meet the
projected growth of the Society for the next five to ten
years. Towards
this end suitable land has been secured through the Town
of High River. Permanent residence will add stability
and assurance to the future status of the Society within
the Foothills Region.
